Mama Oliech`s Restaurant in Nairobi

Mama Oliech is most known for their tilapia, which is excellent, both the dry fry and wet fry (fried then drenched in sauce). Great place to eat fish and hang out.

Had the most delicious coconut fish, brown ugali and traditional vegaletables at this place. The service was absolutely great. The food was excellent. Customer care was great. Ambience is perfect! The restaurant is extremely spacious. The rest rooms are clean. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible.

It has the best fish on Hurligham area

This is the place to go if you want to have an authentic Kenyan food, the Tilapia fish. Choose how you want the fish to be prepared, either dry (deep fried) or wet (with red sauce). It comes with greens and tomato onion salad. And you choose to eat with ugali or rice or chapati. Simple dish but really tasty!

Ever since they got a visit from Zuckerberg they got very expensive. 1000 for the same food you can get at garden fresh for 300. And service is not very nice

The food here was delicious, simple menu. I ordered fish with Ugali. It comes with Greens and katchumbari. I will recommend getting a side of chopped green chili peppers for those who like peppers. The food was quickly prepared and brought to the table within 10min. Friendly staff, clean location. A must visit for anyone with a love for fish. One thing to note, parking is limited but the staff there can assist with finding a suitable location.

Great fish from the lake and the ambience is great..they have done some great work at keeping the place contemporal.

It had become very popular because Facebook CEO had a lunch while he was in Nairobi couple of years ago.Wali Samaki was amazing. Great service, our order took like 10 minutes and it was fresh take a note meals are bit expensive. No wheelchair accessibility.

Don't know if I just happened to catch them on a bad day or not. I was there last evening briefly, but left shortly thereafter. I was creeped out by the fact that I was the only client there & that my drink was flat. The prices generally are waay too high e.g. chips is 300/-, most places a whole fish ranges between 650 and 900 on the menu. The cheapest fish dish is 1,250/- and accompaniments are charged separately. Won't be back.

Mama Oliech stands for it’s name in delivering quality delicious food. First time going to this restaurant and I was not disappointed. The fish was well prepared and it kind of took me back to Kisumu where they make such awesome fish. Please try this restaurant out it’s worth the hype. Even Mark Zuckerberg ate there (:

MO served the best wet fry fish that I've had in Nairobi! The service was fast also. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I hope they get their groove back on but the last experience i had there was just horrible. Exorbitant prices in exchange for some stale fish and the service was just very slow. Previously had very nicely made fish, greens and ugali and wanted to share my discovery with a friend lets just say if it were a first date the score would have been zero on a scale of 0-10 with zero been very very disappointed. I still have hope they will get back to the once lively and warm place that was serving out of the world fish.
